While we are liable for your items that we transport, there are different
levels of liability. You may select from these different levels of liability,
which will determine the amount and type of reimbursement to which you
will be entitled if an item is damaged or lost during the move.
Our various levels of protection include:
Actual Cash Value: With this option, you will receive either the repair costs necessary to
restore the item to the condition it was in when we received it (the cost
of repairs is paid to you), or the full, actual cash value of the item
based on its value immediately before the move.
Full Replacement Value: With this option, you will receive either the cost of repairs needed to
restore the item to the same condition in which we received it, the cost
of repairs paid to you, or a replacement of equal/like kind and quality,
or the cost of the replacement. This option does not entail any additional charges.
Released Value Included: Our maximum liability according to state law for damage or loss is $0.60
per pound, per article, up to a maximum amount of $2,000.00. This option
does not entail any extra cost. You may increase the liability for damage
or loss by selecting additional valuation options.
If you select option one (Actual Cash Value) or option two (Full Replacement
Value), you will be required to select either a lump sum value of your
shipment or an amount per pound that may not be less than $6.00/pound,
whichever is greater. If you select option three (Released Value Included),
you will be required to release the shipment with this liability level
via your initial prior to the job. With this option, we are liable only
for $0.60 (60 cents) per pound per article, based on the standard Uniform
Table of Weights.
